Adjustable-Equilibrium Parallel Elastic Actuator (AE-PEA)
Our paper, published in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, introduces an adjustable-equilibrium parallel elastic actuator that combines a direct-drive motor and a 3D-printed torsional spring with a small auxiliary motor for continuous equilibrium adjustment. The design integrates high torque control bandwidth, passive energy storage, shock mitigation, and equilibrium tuning in a single actuator.

Learning Finite-Horizon Optimal Control with Unknown Control-Affine Dynamics
Our paper, published in Systems & Control Letters, introduces a method for learning finite-horizon optimal control without requiring a model of the system dynamics. The approach approximates time- and state-dependent optimal control policies through model-free relearning of simple linear policies, with proven convergence and optimality under persistent excitation.
